PROJECTS: Nordic Residency - Sailing forth in our Blue Boat

Throughout the coming year we have many exciting developments happening at CONFLUENCE THE WORLD, and to kick things off we hope you will join us in celebrating World Confluence Day on the 2nd February, our 3rd birthday! During 2020, as well as hosting more storytelling workshops, photography talks, tours and Confluence Women events, we will be offering creatives a residency in Norway, kindly hosted by our Nordic Confluence family and partners.

Building on the success of our April 2019 Scottish Residency, the Celtic/Nordic project gathers momentum, now embracing the opportunity to meet up and spend time with Confluence crew from Denmark, Sweden and of course, Norway. The residency, which will take place in September 2020, will see us travelling to Oslo and then North to Lofoten where we will take our time exploring and photographing the surrounding area.
During our time together we will hold creative planning workshops, looking more deeply at the themes running through our stories. From this time of research, our Nordic and Celtic based photographer members will create new work, inspired by the stories. This creative work will be brought together in a second Confluence book: ‘Celtic and Nordic Visions and Stories’. The book will launch in Oslo, Norway, in early 2021!
